Northeastern opened Sectional 44 play at Hagerstown vs Centerville on Friday night and had their slowest start of the season. The Lady Knights trailed the Bulldogs 8-2 at the end of the first quarter, which was the lowest scoring output in the opening quarter by the Knights all season. The second quarter wasn't much better as Northeastern was still working out the nerves. They trailed 15-13 at halftime. Northeastern came out in the second half looking more like themselves, outscoring the Bulldogs 28-10 behind some defensive pressure. The fourth quarter was much of the same as the Knights extended their lead to 31 before the final buzzer. With the win, Northeastern secured their spot in Saturday's Sectional Championship game vs the winner of Union County and Winchester.
