Due to a number of circumstances, the JV girls basketball Wayne County Tournament was cancelled this season. In place of that, the Northeastern Lady Knights picked up a game against the Richmond Red Devils on Monday night. The JV Lady Knights hadn't played a game since December 20th and it took a few quarters to shake off the rust. Northeastern led just 18-10 at the half and carried just an 11 point lead heading into the 4th quarter thanks to a last second layup by Nevaeh Chapman. The Lady Knights were back to form in the 4th quarter outscoring the Red Devils 22-1 in the final frame behind great rebounding from Nicole Sheets and tenacious defense by Lexi Russell.
