Northeastern Drops Competitive Game At 3A #6 Jay County

Northeastern Lady Knights traveled to 3A #6 ranked Jay County on Tuesday night. Northeastern fell behind early trailing 15-6 after the first quarter. The Patriots extended their lead to 13 by halftime behind offensive rebounds and some turnovers by the Lady Knights. Northeastern was able to get the game within 6 with just under 4 minutes to play, holding Indiana All-Star and Purdue Fort Wayne commit Renna Schwieterman scoreless through the first three quarters of play. The Knights ran out of time and the Patriots made their free throws down the stretch to defeat Northeastern by a final of 60-49 moving to 3-4 on the season. The Lady Knights are back in action Friday night at home as they look to remain undefeated in conference play against Centerville. Northeastern will honor first responders and have a ceremony for fallen RPD Officer and former Lady Knight, Seara Burton in between the JV and Varsity contest.
