Northeastern football defeats Shenandoah 35-32

Northeastern football went on the road to Shenandoah on Friday and came away with a 35-32 win. This is Northeastern's first win over the Raiders in school history. Both teams had double digit leads in the second half as the score went back and forth all night. Isaac Martin intercepted a pass on Shenandoah's first possession that set up a Dylan Isaacs 7 yard TD run. The Raiders responded with a scoring drive of their own to tie it up 7-7. On the first play of the Knights' next drive, Isaacs went 63 yards to the house to go up 14-7. A Carson Terrell interception on their next drive and a Raiders scoring drive right before half saw the score 17-14 at half in Shenandoah's favor. Northeastern went 4 and out on their first drive of the second half and the Raiders scored on their second play to go up 24-14. Northeastern then ripped off 21 unanswered points with Isaacs running in 2 more TDs and Noah Ammerman found Eli Hemmelgarn in the end zone to go up 35-24. Shenandoah drove down and scored with under a minute to go to cut it to 35-32 but Zane Schneider recovered the onside kick and a first down sealed the historic win. Dylan Isaacs had 131 yards rushing and 4 TDs, Carson Terrell had 161 yards passing and Conner Archie had 4 catches for 86 yards to pace the offense. Blayne Bry had 15 total tackles, Calvin Berhalter had 14 total tackles, and Ethan Neeley had 11 total tackles to lead the Black Wall defense. The Knight (6-1) return to action this Saturday at 1 pm at Ball State as they take on Knightstown (1-5). This is also youth day for Northeastern.
