Northeastern MS/HS

The Lady Knights travelled to Hagerstown on Tuesday night to face off against the only undefeated TEC team. The Knights struggled defensively in the first inning as the Tigers scored 12 runs on 7 hits, 5 walks and 2 errors. Northeastern chipped away in the top of the second, scoring 4 runs on 2 hits and 3 walks. The Knights struggled offensively following the second inning, going scoreless for the rest of the game. The Tigers added another run in the bottom of the fifth, making the final score 13-4. Kenzie Johnson (Fr) started on the mound for the Knights, pitching 1/3 of an inning while giving up 9 runs (7 ERs). Johnson walked 4 batters and gave up 3 hits. Senior Clare Lopeman came in to finish the game on the mound for the Knights. Lopeman gave up only 4 runs on 1 walk and 7 hits. Lopeman also earned 7 strikeouts. Northeastern travels to Daleville on Wednesday and will host Rushville on Friday for their senior night.
