Northeastern MS/HS

The Northeastern Middle School track teams competed in the Wayne County Track meet last night at Hagerstown. The girls just missed out on the Championship falling to Hagerstown 68-66. The Boys placed second to Centerville as well. There were several outstanding efforts from kids last night on both teams. Aubrey Neagle placed 2nd in the 800 and 1600, but her times qualified her for the Middle School State Track meet at Terra Haute in May. Zach Wright placed 3rd in the 800 run with a personal best of 2:42. Bailee Slick ran a personal best to capture second in the 200 dash. Rylee Chamness threw a PR in the Shot Put to place 3rd. Jarrett Leitner ran season low time in the 110 Hurdles to earn the 3rd place. Winning for the Knights were Kaden Retter (Long Jump and 200), Kaleb Kress (110 Hurdles), Hayden Neagle (800, 1600, and 1600 Relay), Kamdyn Sum (200 and Long Jump), Aubrey Neagle (1600 Relay), Hadley Neagle (1600 Relay), and Bella Green (1600 Relay). The Knights return to action on Monday at home versus Richmond and Eastern Hancock.
