Knights Rally over Winchester

Northeastern softball came out strong offensively Tuesday night against the Winchester Falcons, with a 12-0 win. The Lady Knights rallied through the lineup in the first inning, scoring 6 runs on 4 walks and 2 hits. Freshman Kenzie Johnson hit her first homerun of her high school career with a 2 run shot in the bottom of the first. The Knights earned another 4 runs in the 2nd inning on 2 singles, 2 doubles and an error, putting them up 10-0. A triple by freshman Jocelyn Allen in the 4th inning, along with a sacrifice fly by Riley Day, helped allow the Knights to earn 2 more runs. Johnson started on the mound for the Knights, pitching a no hitter in 3 innings, with only 1 walk and 2 strikeouts. Sophomore Addi Wright took the mound in the last 2 innings, also earning a no hitter with 1 strikeout. The Lady Knights will host Randolph Southern on Thursday at 5:00 and will host a conference game against Centerville on Friday at 5:30.
