The Lady Knights rallied their way through a close game at Knightstown on Friday. In extra innings, the Knights earned a 7-5 victory. Freshman Jocelyn Allen stepped up for the Knights in the second inning, hitting a 2 run bomb to put the Knights on the scoreboard. Knightstown gained the lead in the bottom of the 2nd, earning 3 runs. The Lady Knights trailed until the 7th inning, where a leadoff single by Allen and hit by Jayden Hildebrand (Fr) allowed the Knights to tie the game. With a scoreless 7th inning for Knightstown, the Lady Knights began to find their rhythm at the plate in the top of the 8th. Lexi Russell (Jr) started the inning with a triple, followed by a double by Emma Neeley (Sr), a walk by Clare Lopeman (Sr), and a 3 run homerun by Karri Gammon (Fr). Knightstown did not back down, scoring 2 runs in the bottom of the 8th, however, fell short of gaining the lead back following the Knights’ big inning. The Lady Knights will travel to New Castle on Saturday for a single game at 10:00am.
