The Lady Knights traveled to Shenandoah and took the fight to the Lady Raiders, coming out on top with a 3-2 win. #1 Singles Lauren Lacey won 6-0, 6-0, while #1 Doubles Ella Coddington and Chaia Gardner won in straight sets 6-4, 6-1. #2 Doubles Olivia Null and Alyssa Sheets provided the team win with a gutsy 4-6, 7-6 (7-3), 10-2 3rd set Super Tiebreak win. "I don't think they (Shenandoah) expected us to come in and get the win tonight, and they expected our doubles to fold after getting down a set. What we've established this year is making sure teams understand that just because we are down, we are still fighting, point by point, and that's our attitude coming into every match. It was awesome to see and we are becoming mentally tougher as the season goes on. We also had a birthday to celebrate and it was nice to get the win for her. Happy 16th Birthday Aubrey!," said Coach Haynes. The JV also had a successful night, with #1 Singles Kahlen Meyer finding her serve and hitting deeper placed balls for a 6-0 win. #1 Doubles Ava Bales and Alex Shank split, losing their first matchup 4-6 and winning 6-0 in their second matchup. The Knights improve to 4-2 overall, 2-2 in nonconference play, and 2-0 in the TEC. The Knights play again at NHS against Tri High School in a TEC matchup on Thursday, April 25th at 4:30pm.
