By Tara Williams | Apr 21, 2024 8:30 AM

On Saturday, the Lady Knights struggled getting their bats going against TEC opponent Hagerstown in the Wayne County Tournament. Hagerstown’s offense was unstoppable for the Knights, resulting in a 10-0 run rule in 5 innings. With only 2 hits recorded for the Knights (Emma Neeley and Addi Wright), this was the only game this season that they have been shutout. Freshman Kenzie Johnson started in the circle for the Knights, throwing 3 innings, giving up 6 total runs (4 ER) with 3 strikeouts. Senior Clare Lopeman came in to pitch 2 innings, giving up 4 runs (3 ER) and earning 2 strikeouts. The Knights will face the Tigers again in regular season for the TEC matchup. Following the tough weekend, the Lady Knights are looking ahead as they have an important TEC week, traveling to Knightstown on Tuesday, playing at Eastern Hancock on Wednesday (Non-conference), and hosting Lincoln on Thursday.
