The lady Knights defeated the defending TEC champs, Union County, Wednesday night 7-3. The Knights took the field with momentum and never let up. Kenzie Johnson dominated in the circle for 6 complete innings. In her first career start, the freshman stayed composed against a talented Patriot team. Johnson allowed 2 runs and struck out 4. The Lady Knights defense rallied behind their pitcher and got out of several potentially game changing scenarios. Senior Clare Lopeman completed the final inning for the Knights to seal the victory. Offensively, the Knights recorded 11 hits to score in 4 of the 7 innings. Leading the way was freshman Karri Gammon who went 2-4 with a HR and 3 RBI’s.
