Knights Win

Knights golf went on the road tonight, facing Jay County at Portland Golf Club. The boys stepped up across the board to put up our best score of the young season. Playing on a course none of the kids had seen before resulted in a big win. The team fired a 166 to beat Jay County by 2 shots. Hayden Chalfant lead the way with a 40. Chalfant drove the ball beautifully again tonight. Short game held back what could have been a spectacular round. Brady Geis was solid yet again with a 42. Hole 7, the most difficult on the course, was a double par, 8. Even with that score, he had his best high school round ever. Landon Scarrette fired his lowest round tonight as well. Scarrette started the round with a triple bogey 7 on hole one. He stayed positive and played the remainder of the 9 in 3 over to shoot 42. Freshman Landon Helms also had his lowest round of the young season. Helms had it -1 through his first 4 holes. Two tough holes on 7 and 1, or he could have had a really special round. Brandt Benjamin struggled tonight but continues to try and improve his game! The Knights are at it again on Saturday. The JV also traveled tonight to Winchester to play against Randolph Southern. The boys were defeated 225 to 250. Jordan Dance shot a 54 to lead the way. Larkin Blanford with 60, Cam Campbell and Clayton Garringer with 68 each. We couldn’t do the things we do with the boys without the help of our Sponsor!! Thank you Generations Grill & Sports Bar and Charley Bryant!! Your support means the world to these boys!
