Lady Knights Defeat Richmond

The Lady Knights added another win Monday night with a 10-0 victory over the Richmond Red Devils. The Knights started out hot offensively, earning 4 runs in the first inning. Freshman Karri Gammon led the Knights at the plate going 3 for 3 with 2 singles and a 2-run bomb in the bottom of the 3rd, earning her first high school career homerun. Lilly Null also added a run in the 3rd from a sacrifice fly by Emma Neeley. The Knights earned an additional 3 runs in the fourth inning as well. Senior Clare Lopeman started on the mound for the Knights, earning 5 strikeouts and giving up only 2 hits in 3 innings. Freshman Mackenzie Johnson took the mound in the fourth inning giving up only 2 hits and earning 3 strikeouts. Gammon ended the day with 4 RBI’s while Lopeman was also successful at the plate going 2-3 with 2 doubles and 4 RBI’s. Lexi Russell (Jr), Lilly Null (Sr), and Jocelyn Allen (Fr), all added additional hits for the Knights to force a run rule over the Red Devils. The Lady Knights begin their conference play this Wednesday at Union County at 5:30 PM. They will also host Tri on Thursday at 5:30 PM. The Knights will be hosting the Wayne County tournament this Saturday, April 20th.
