Northeastern Football picks up road TEC win over Winchester

The Northeastern football team got a victory on the road this past Friday night by defeating Winchester 42-14. They jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter with a 13 play, 58 yard drive capped off by a 6-yard Logan White TD catch from Carson Terrell. They also had a 59 yard strike from Terrell to Noah Ammerman for a touchdown. Winchester got on the board in the 2nd quarter but the Knights responded with 2 more scores from Eli Hemmelgarn and Ammerman to take a 28-6 lead into halftime. Hemmelgarn and Ammerman both found the end zone again in the third quarter to complete the Northeastern scoring. The Knights' defense was lead by Dylan Isaacs who had 13 total tackles including 2 sacks and 4 tackles for loss. Ethan Neeley and Calvin Berhalter both had 11 total tackles. The Black Wall defense limited the Falcons to 213 total yards and only 5 yards through the air. Carson Terrell was 13-20 with 312 yards passing on the evening with 4 TD and 0 interceptions. Ammerman had 5 catches for 180 yards and 3 total TDs. Hemmelgarn had 73 total yards with 2 scores and White added 4 catches for 52 yards and a score. Luke Higdon had a touchback and was a perfect 6-6 on PATs on the night. Northeastern (2-1) returns to action this Friday for Homecoming as they host Lincoln (0-3) at 7 pm.
