Northeastern Lady Knights traveled to Hagerstown High School on 01/04/2024 to take on the Lady Tigers in the First Round of the Wayne County Tournament. The Knights jumped out to a very early 21-2 lead after the first frame and never looked back. Northeastern extended their lead to 46-4 at the half and eventually won by a final of 75-17 to advance to Saturday night's Championship game for the 5th straight year. Mastriano 16 pts, Kircher 14 pts, Mikesell 13 pts, Angi 11 pts, Green 7 pts, Shuler & K. Gammon 5 pts each, Slick & Davis 2 pts a piece. On Saturday 01/06/2024, Northeastern headed back to Hagerstown, IN to face off against TEC rival Centerville in the Wayne County Tournament Championship. The Bulldogs found themselves in a hole after the first quarter and trailed 18-3. The Lady Knights pushed their lead to 30 by halftime and never looked back winning by a final of 69-23. The victory marks the 5th Wayne County Championship in a row for Northeastern. Seniors Addisen Mastriano, Juztice Slick, Nevaeh Chapman & Sady Gammon finish their high school careers without ever losing a Wayne County Tournament dating back to 5th grade. Mastriano 20 pts, Mikesell 13 pts, Kircher 12 pts, Slick & Shuler 5 pts a piece, Angi, K. Gammon, Chapman and Mackenzie Johnson 3 pts each & Green 2 pts. The Knights are back at home with a pivotal TEC matchup vs Tri on Tuesday 01/09/2024.
