V volleyball faced the Seton Cardinals on the road and brought home their 5th consecutive win. The Lady Knights won 2-0, 25-11 and 25-15.

The 1st set started off a little rocky with the Cardinals taking an early lead at 0-4. Freshman Lilly Null put the first point on the board for the Knights with a kill from the outside. Null would then go to the serve line which didn’t allow the Lady Cardinals to put up much of an offense and allowed the Knights to set up their offense resulting in kills by Freshman Rylee Seal and Sophomore Lorin Nicholson. Null’s serving run would end in a lead for the Knights, 6-4.

The Knights quickly earned the side out and continued their lead at 7-5. With Freshman Abby Deitsch at the serve line, Freshman Ella Coddington would set up Null for a back row attack that resulted in a kill. Freshman Emma Neeley would then follow up with a kill from the middle. Deitsch quickly added to the lead on her own by serving 5 straight aces and putting the Knights up 10-5. Deitsch would then showcase her defensive skills by digging a well placed hit by the Cardinals that continued a volley that ultimately ended with a kill by Neeley.

The Knights would continue to dominate the set with an ace from Sophomore Kam McFarland and kills from Freshmen; Ava Coddington, Neeley and Null. Set point would be earned when Sophomore Grace Todd dug a hard hit that kept the volley going and ultimately ended when Sophomore Madi Austerman had a kill from an overpass by the Cardinals.

The 2nd set would begin similar to the 1st with the Knights having a few mental errors. Nicholson would gain the side out for the Knights when she put up a well placed tip resulting in a kill. Freshman Grace Stockton would come to the serve line with the Knights down 1-3 and ended with the Knights up 5-4. The game continued with both teams making some mental errors and eventually the Knights turned the game around when attacks were delivered by Seal and Nicholson giving the team some momentum. With the Knights ahead and the Cardinals serving, Freshman Alaina More earned the side out with a kill and put the Knights up to 11-9. Seal would then come to the serve line and begin a 10 point run with an ace. Seal’s serve run would include 3 more aces by Seal and kills from Moore, Stockton and Freshman Gracie Summers. With the score at 21-15, Stockton would put down a kill and earn a side out for the Knights. Deitsch returned to serve with her hard to handle serve and ended the game when she served 3 straight aces.
