The Northeastern Lady Knights had a great win on the road over TEC rival Centerville 49-23. The Knights are proud to hold onto the TEC traveling trophy going into 2018. The girls played well throughout the entire game, despite missing two of their regular Varsity players. Freshman Emma Wright led the scoring effort with 13 points, followed by Madi Clay with 11 points, Jenna McFarland scored 10 points, Kasey Andrews had 8 points, Kelli Drake finished with 3 points, and Willow Runyon and McKenzie Chasteen each chipped in 2 points. Young players stepped up and helped the Varsity with Jamie Andrews and McKenzie Chasteen making their Varsity debut. Official stats aren’t in, but Madi Clay did an excellent job of crashing the boards defensively. Overall, it was teamwork and discipline that led to a Lady Knights victory. The team has a quick turn around and will host National Trail tomorrow with JV tipping-off at noon followed by Varsity at 1:30.
