The Lady Knights track and field squad scored big at the Sectional meet at Connersville High School on Tuesday night. While they finished in eighth place as a team, the ladies’ 38 points were the most scored by our girl’s team since 1999.

Leading the way for the ladies was Emma Carr who turned in two gutsy performances in the 200 meter and 400 meter dashes, finishing second in each race and earning herself a qualifying spot at next week’s Regional meet in each race.

Madison Adams and Alizah Rankin will also be moving on to the Regional meet as each finished in the runner-up spots in the throws. Madison finished second in shot put after a tie with a throw of 32’10”. Alizah Rankin finished second in the discus with a 111’9″, breaking her own personal best by three feet.

The ladies will compete next at the IHSAA Regional at Shelbyville High School on Tuesday, May 22nd.
