Multiple Teams · Girls Basketball Game Summaries From the First Five Games

vs. Monroe Central

Last Wednesday night the Lady Knights Varsity battled the Bears from

Monroe Central coming up short in a loss 47-19. The Knights were led

by Amanda Canon with 8 points and Kate Shaffer with 4. The Lady

Knights are back in action against TEC foe Winchester Monday night

with the JV starting at 6:00.


The JV Lady Knights fought a tough battle against Monroe Central.

They played a great second half but ended up with a loss of 14-36.

Sophomore Mikayla Hornung led the Knights with 6 points and Freshman

Kasey Andrews with 4 points. The JV Lady Knights play again at Home

tonight against Winchester.


vs. Cowan and at Seton Catholic

The Lady Knights hosted the Cowan Blackhawks in Varsity action last

Friday night. The two teams were tied at half time but the Knights

outlasted the Blackhawks and rolled to a 48-35 victory. Leading with a

double double was Sierra Gilmore with 22 points and 19 rebounds. Kate

Shaffer added 7 points and 12 rebounds. Madi Clay added 9 points and

Madeline Adams 8 points for the Knights.


The Knights were on the road against Seton Catholic last night. The

Knights led at halftime 20 to 11 and didn’t look back as they finished

the night 50-31. Sierra Gilmore led with a double double with 13

points and 14 rebounds. Morghan Foust had 9 rebounds and 8 points.

Kate Shaffer and Madeline Adams added 7 points each, with Stacia Adams

and Amanda Canon adding 6 points each.


The Lady Knights now 2-2 host Monroe Central Wednesday night, and

Winchester next Monday.


at Knightstown

The Lady Knights traveled to Knightstown for a non-conference game

last night. In a hard fought game the Knights lost to the Panthers 58

to 34. Leading the way in scoring was Amanda Canon with 14, Sierra

Gilmore with 8 and Kate Shaffer with 7.


The Lady Knights have a home contest tonight with Cowan at 6:00. This

is a Varsity only game!



The JV Lady Knights basketball team fought hard last night at

Knightstown, but ended up with a loss.  The game started off slow but

the girls really picked it up scoring 16 of their 23 points in the 2nd

half.  Freshman Lauren York led the Knights with 8 followed by

Freshman Leah Hoskins with 6 points.   Final score was Knights 23 –

Knightstown 35 falling to an 0-2.  JV plays again next Wednesday at



vs. Randolph Southern

Last night the Lady Knights hosted Randolph Southern in season opening

game. While playing hard the Varsity came short.  Leading the scoring

for the Knights was Amanda Canon and Kaitlin Shaffer.


In Junior Varsity Action the Lady Knights lost by one point at the end

of the game in a hard fought contest. The Knights were led by Lauren

York in scoring.


The Knights on be at Knightstown on Thursday and at home against Cowan

on Friday.
