The Lady Knights defeated Monroe Central Monday night 10-0, with freshman pitcher Kenzie Johnson adding another shutout to her season. The Knights came out swinging, scoring their first three hitters from a walk by Lexi Russell (Jr), and back-to-back doubles by Emma Neeley (Sr) and Jocelyn Allen (Fr). The Knights added an additional 6 runs in the second inning while racking up 2 singles, 2 doubles and a 2-run homer from senior Clare Lopeman, her second of the season. The Lady Knights earned their final run to defeat the Bears in the bottom of the fifth inning with a walk from Johnson, and a long ball from Addi Wright (So) to score the run. Kenzie Johnson earned another win on the mound for the Knights. Johnson faced 17 batters, earning 9 strikeouts and giving up only 2 hits. The Lady Knights will travel to Union City on Tuesday for a TEC matchup.
