Game Recap

The Lady Knights softball historic run came to an end Saturday losing to Henryville 5-4. The Lady Knights left after graduation on Friday for their 4 hour bus ride. They received great support from the community with a hot meal waiting for them along with goodie bags, cookies, cold drinks, a decorated bus, and a police escort to I-70.
Henryville scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the 3rd inning before the Knights took a 2-1 lead with hits from Leah Hoskins, Chaise Helton, and Mikayla Hornung in the 4th. Henryville scored 4 to take a 5-2 lead but the Lady Knights responded with 2 runs as a result of a double from Leah Hoskins knocking in Sierra Gilmore and Lauren York in the 5th inning to close the gap to 5-4 . The Lady Knights out hit the Hornets and gave great effort through out the game but just came up short. Although they wished they could have been playing one more weekend, they proved they were one of the best teams in the state. This season created memories that will last a lifetime. The players and coaches would like to thank the parents, fans, school, and community for their support during this exciting and historic season.
